Meet Rebecca Harris

Rebecca Harris is a counsellor and psychotherapist, education consultant, and author, with over 20 years’ experience in her field. Bringing together extensive studies in developmental trauma and work in student wellbeing saw Rebecca become an early leader in the field of trauma informed practice in education. In recognition of the impactful work she was doing, Rebecca was approached to write a book about her method and experiences, in the hopes it would reach more people. In 2023, Rebecca published her first book,
Safe to learn: Embedding trauma-informed student wellbeing practices, which helps readers understand behaviour and learning through the lens of trauma and adversity.

In addition to her extensive educational experiences, Rebecca also holds a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and is, famously, the one and only guest to ever appear on the Pop Culture Parenting podcast.

“Bec is one of those rare people who can take the most complex science of trauma and turn it into something that feels deeply human, practical, and hopeful. She is an essential voice for anyone looking to truly understand and support the children in their care.”
— Billy Garvey
